For certain is death for the born And certain is birth for the dead; Therefore over the inevitable Thou shouldst not grieve. Bhagavad Gita

This memorial website was created to remember a most fierce warrior of love and light, our dearest Jaaz, born Claudia Lee Dedmon, who was born in Florida on September 28, 1957 and passed away from cancer on December 28, 2015. You will live forever in our memories and hearts.

It is no accident that Jaaz was born into this world the bright light that she is. She was light years ahead of her time and a very spiritual person and old soul. She was a seeker of truth and a commanding protector and lover of her family. Her greatest strength is the love for her family and friends which still resonates in all of us today.

Jaaz's lifelong dream was to be a public speaker and write a book about her life in hopes that her trials could help someone with theirs. In essence, she did exactly that. She was the voice of justice for anyone mistreated and a constant spout for loving kindness to all she cared for. She was an outspoken force to be reckoned with and an advocate for those who needed her voice. She created six amazing stories of life in her two surviving children, Brian and Misty Dedmon, and four grandchildren, Zaynah Davila, Sonny Dedmon, Shelby Dedmon, and Drake Lozano. These "novels" are the true success of her life. She also leaves behind her devoted loving life partner and best friend, Tom Hendrix, and shared grandchildren Presley and Sawyer Greenburg.

Nothing could ever hold Jaaz back! She lived life fearlessly on her terms filled with adventure with unbounded courage. She loved the outdoors, animals, fairies, crystals, dancing and the feeling of being free riding her Harley. She enjoyed metaphysical studies, always searching for what it meant to be here and beyond. She grew up a free spirit loving horses and traveling the country. She was determined in all she did but never forgot to laugh out loud. What a great laugh it was!

You have transcended but live vibrantly in the hearts of all you touched and are immortalized in the memories and stories we will all share. I know you are the most brightest star in the sky still lighting the way for us left behind. Thank you for your beautiful life. Until we meet again...
